Breast Reconstruction Using Tissue Expanders, Aceullular Dermal Matrix, and Permanent Implants Patient 4

39 year old with a strong family history for breast cancer. She underwent bilateral prophylactic mastectomy using a breast reduction incision pattern. Immediate reconstruction using tissue expanders and acellular dermal matrix was performed. Permanent silicone implants were placed at a second stage. The patient is shown 4 months after second stage reconstruction.

This is a breast reconstruction case using tissue expanders, aceullular dermal matrix, and permanent implants or TRAM Flaps. The mastectomy was performed via a “Wise Pattern” Skin excision similar to a breast reduction. This approach is used in woman with larger breasts to reduce the amount of excess skin, giving a much improved shape and contour.
