Women who have undergone mastectomy for the treatment of breast cancer don’t always know about all of their reconstructive options. With it being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, there is no better time to learn about the available options than now. October 15th is specifically dedicated to informing women about breast reconstruction procedures.
Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day USA (BRA Day USA), as it is called, is a campaign put on by several different organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Plastic Surgery Foundation, plastic surgeons, corporate sponsors, and breast cancer support groups. The goal with BRA Day USA is to help women familiarize themselves with the many different options they have in reconstruction.
