Breast Reconstruction Using Tissue Expanders, Aceullular Dermal Matrix, and Permanent Implants Patient 5

37 year old who is genetically positive for breast cancer (BRCA1). She underwent bilateral prophylactic mastectomies in order to significantly reduce her chance of developing breast cancer in the future. Immediate reconstruction was performed using tissue expander and aceullar dermal matrix. Permanent implants were placed at a second stage. This patient is shown 5 months of the completion of reconstruction.

This is a breast reconstruction case using tissue expanders, aceullular dermal matrix, and permanent implants or TRAM Flaps. The mastectomy was performed via a “Wise Pattern” Skin excision similar to a breast reduction. This approach is used in woman with larger breasts to reduce the amount of excess skin, giving a much improved shape and contour.
