Home/Gallery/Breast Reconstruction Using Tissue Expanders, Aceullular Dermal Matrix, and Permanent Implants/Patient 24
Patient is a 50 year old woman who was diagnosed with an invasive cancer of the left breast. She underwent a left total mastectomy with sentinel lymph node biopsy and an immediate tissue expander reconstruction. After successful expansion, she underwent exchange to a permanent anatomic silicone breast implant. She now has excellent symmetry and an overall pleasing shape to her breast. She elected to forego nipple reconstruction, and she is seen here approximately 6 months following her permanent implant placement. She is very pleased with her final result.
