About Rachel M. Duke, NP, CANS
Rachel M. Duke is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner and central Virginia’s first Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist (CANS). Rachel joins our practice with over 11 years of aesthetic experience. She holds undergraduate degrees in nursing from Cumberland County College and Stockton University, both in New Jersey. She continued her education to include a Master’s degree in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and has specialized in non-surgical facial rejuvenation since 2005. During her years of experience, Rachel has continued to advance her skills and knowledge of new treatment options by attending conferences annually across the United States and maintains membership with the American Society of Plastic Surgical Nurses. As a national trainer for Allergan, Rachel is part of a select group of 150 nursing professionals nationwide dedicated to training other healthcare providers. She is respected by colleagues for her collaborative approach to sharing best practices and providing personalized injection training on neurotoxins and dermal fillers.
Over the past 19 years, she has gained nursing experience in many areas of medicine including emergency medicine, transplant coordination, transplant surgery and facial plastic surgery. Rachel has had the privilege and unique opportunity to provide nursing care abroad in South Africa, during her graduate study at VCU, and is a Junior Board member of the Children’s Hospital Foundation. Rachel’s vast background has given her a foundation to approach her patients with care and expertise. One of the things Rachel loves about aesthetic medicine is that treatments are individualized, there is no “cookie cutter” approach to her care. She develops relationships will all of her patients first, listens to their needs and then works together with them to develop the optimal treatment plan.
Rachel is originally from southern NJ and currently lives in the far west end with her husband Patrick and two Cavalier King Charles Spaniel’s, Jersey and Daisy. She and her husband enjoy traveling abroad along with enjoying all the incredible experiences central Virginia has to offer.
